Antigua, also known as "Waladli or Wadadli (by the native population)", is part of an island country in the Lesser Antilles, that consists of two major islands (Antigua & Barbuda), and some smaller surrounding islands (Great Bird Island, Green Island, Long Island, Guiana Island, Maiden Island, Prickly Pear, York Islands, and Redonda), in the northern part of the Caribbean Sea. It's one of the Leeward Islands, is 281 square kilometers (108 square miles) in size, and is home to over 95,000 people! The lush jungle full of swaying palm trees, fruit trees, and flowers, its gorgeous 365 beaches, rolling mountains, and countless forts & sugar mills, make Antigua the most beautiful Caribbean Island I have ever traveled... Not to mention the rainbow, which I saw almost every day, and saw five in one day! I absolutely fell head over heels in love with this gorgeous island!!
CocoBay Resort Antigua This charming, romantic Adults-Only boutique resort stole my heart with its charming colorful cottages that are sprawled along a beautiful bluff overlooking the Caribbean Sea. I stayed in the stunning Premium Waterfront Pool Cottage "Soursop", and it was absolutely amazing! The unobstructed view of the sea, infinity pool, outdoor clawfoot bath tub, shower that opens to the outside, mosquito netting around the plush king sized bed, and the overall rustic-chic local charm of the cottage, had me in awe! I cannot speak highly enough about this little piece of paradise!
The grounds around CocoBay will absolutely take your breath away! The tropical vegetation makes you feel like you are in paradise, and that's exactly what it is! The resort also has access to three beaches, has two large infinity pools for guests, along with smaller infinity pools you can reserve. Rafters Restaurant & Bar and Sheer Rocks are the two places you can dine on the property (along with private dining or Floating Pool options), and the food was just delicious! Everything about this resort was so elegant, and way exceeded my expectations!
Exploring Antigua There is so much to see around this gorgeous island! I rented a car with Bigs Car Rental and drove around the entire island, seeking out stunning views! Some of my favorite spots around the island are Valley Church, Ffryes Bay, Little Ffryes, Jolly Beach, Deep Bay Beach, Fort Barrington, Rocky Bay, Runaway Beach, Siboney Beach, Dickinson Bay, Nelson's Dockyard, Darkwood Beach, Devil's Bridge, Turners Beach, Morris Bay, Pigeon Point, English Harbor, and Shirley Heights! The beaches are full of shells, seaglass, and mostly, white sand, and were never crowded! The people are very kind, the views are priceless, and I may have a slight obsession with the cuteness of the Mongoose that scurry around the island!!
