Curaçao, a Dutch Caribbean island, is part of the Lesser Antilles, and ABC Islands, tucked between Aruba and Bonaire. Located 65 kilometers (40 miles) north of the coast of Venezuela, the island measures 61 kilometers (38 miles) in length, 16 kilometers (10 miles) wide, and 444 square kilometers (171 square miles) in size! There are almost 160,000 people who call this beautiful island, home. Beings Curaçao is located south of the hurricane path/belt, the island rarely has any impacts from any hurricanes. The lush green rolling mountains full of flowers, rocky cliffsides covered in cactus, countless bird species along with flamingos, white & black sand beaches covered in sea glass & coral, the colorful capital of Willemstad (which is also an UNESCO World Heritage Site), and vibrant marine life in the depths of the gorgeous turquoise, cerulean, and cobalt blue waters are just a few reasons why I fell in love with this magical island!
Coral Estate Luxury Resort This gorgeous property is smaller like a boutique resort, and has the best bohemian charm I have ever seen! The views around the resort are absolutely magical, and the staff is so friendly and welcoming! I stayed in a Superior Suite Ocean View (VIP) #220, and it was perfect with a great view! The restaurants around the property (Koraal, Karakter, & Bread and More) were delicious, and had the perfect ambiance to dine outside, or having the leisure to take it back to your suite! I hands-down recommend staying at this wonderful resort! It truly charmed me in ways I have never experienced in the Caribbean!
Exploring Curaçao With every turn you make, the beauty around the island of Curaçao is absolutely jaw-dropping! I rented a car with Advance Car Rental, and explored around the beautiful mountainous island. Some of my favorite spots are Daaibooi Beach, Cas Abou, SantaCruz, Playa Lagun, Karakter Beach, Playa Piskado, Porto Mari, Playa Jeremi, Playa Kalki, Blue Bay Beach, Sint Willibrordus, Klein Knip, Grote Knip, and the UNESCO World Heritage Site-Willemstad! Some of the beaches are full of sea glass, some shells here and there, and the sand ranged from white, red, to black! Everywhere I explored, I pretty much had the entire beach to myself... Ahhhh, just the way I like it! No matter where you go around the magical island of Curaçao, I can absolutely guarantee, you will not be disappointed. What a gorgeous island!
