Huahine is an island in the French Polynesian Society Islands, located in the South Pacific Ocean. French Polynesia is an "overseas country" of 118 islands that are part of France, divided into five groups (Society Islands, Tuamotu Archipelago, Gambier Islands, Marquesas Islands, & Austral Islands). Huahine is 77.6 square kilometers (30 square miles) in size, and this island surely does not get the attention it deserves. It’s just beautiful.
Maitai Lapita Village Huahine One of the things I loved most about Maitai Lapita Village Huahine is its unique appearance! The water bungalows at this fabulous resort, are over a lake instead of the lagoon! I loved the contrast of the greens against the blue sky, along with the still waters of the lake which gave a perfect reflection! Not only is the island of Huahine pretty desolate, but so is the resort, and that is a great thing! It feels like you have this little slice of heaven to yourself! The beach area is absolutely gorgeous, and the pool area is stunning, with a great view! The staff were all so friendly and eager to help, and the restaurant & bar has such a delicious selection!
Exploring Huahine I loved the vibe on this island because there, less is more! There isn't much for entertainment, as most enjoyment comes from enjoying the natural beauty of the island! With the countless volcanic peaks, hidden beaches, lush surroundings, kind locals, and incredible view, this island surely does not get the recognition it should! I think it’s magical!
