The Maldives (Republic of Maldives) is a South Asian tropic nation in the Indian Ocean, just southwest of Sri Lanka & India. The 1,192 coral islands that make up The Maldives, are grouped into 26 coral atolls, measuring only six feet above sea level. With it's pristine silky white sand beaches, vivid turquoise lagoon, beautiful coral reefs, state-of-the-art Overwater Bungalows stretched over the Indian Ocean, picturesque coconut palms swaying in the wind or hanging over the water, it's no surprise why The Maldives are at the top of many travelers Bucket List. Only 200 islands are inhabited with locals, and there are just over 100 island resorts. One island is ONE resort, which is what makes The Maldives such a magical, "Robinson Crusoe" experience! This is the place to travel for ultimate relaxation, and for mind-blowing scenery that is just as beautiful underwater, as the unspoiled breathtaking landscape, above.

I traveled to Noonu Atoll, Maldives in March, and the weather was just incredible. It was very hot & humid, And one evening it rained while sleeping, and it made for the best sleep while in the Overwater Villa!
The Sun Siyam Iru Fushi Maldives You know that perfect place that you have been dreaming about for years, and you think to yourself, "There's no way a place like this really exists"? Welcome to The Maldives. When I traveled to the magnificent island of Iru Fushi, it had only been days in which ownership had changed from a Hilton to Sun Siyam. Needless to say, I had the best of both worlds. I have never in my life seen a place so perfect, so stunning, so mesmerizing. It is literally the epitome of paradise. To get to this gorgeous 52 acre island located in the Noonu Atoll, I took a seaplane to the island which is only 45 minutes from Malé. I have to say, not only was the beauty of the island mind blowing, but I was extremely impressed with Sunset Horizon Water Villa #415! I could kick back and relax in the hot tub on my deck, or walk down the stairs into the lagoon and take a swim, while watching the sunset. The stairs off of my deck leading into the lagoon looked as if I was stepping into a pool! I couldn't have asked for a more private, luxurious, beautiful villa!
The beautiful island of Iru Fushi absolutely stole my heart as soon as it was in my view from the windshield of the seaplane. I loved that the island had 11 restaurants to choose from (now has 14), and they had the most delicious cuisine!! The staff was always so helpful, welcoming, and kind! The view of the jetties sprawled out into the Indian Ocean, dotted with overwater villas, was just incredible. I have never seen water so blue, and sand so soft & white. Every morning, the sand was raked around the shoreline to collect any coral that had been washed ashore during the evening hours. Even the interior of the island was raked to perfect. No leaf was out of place. I have never felt such serenity, as I did on this island. The Maldives is my safe haven, and my dream come true.
